Prevention and Education

We believe prevention is a key component in ending sexual and domestic violence that must be addressed through outreach and awareness, education, prevention campaigns, and policy change efforts across all spheres of influence.

This is why we offer prevention and education services to our community. We work to create prevention and education materials for children, adolescents, and adults that are holistic, developmentally progressive, and culturally appropriate. This includes presentations, events, workshops, trainings, and more.

To discuss scheduling a presentation or other educational event, call our office at (434) 394-3505.

Who is this for?

We offer this service to a wide variety of people in our community, including schools/colleges, faith communities, social groups, businesses, and many others. We also offer trainings and workshops to allied professionals such as social workers, law enforcement, medical professionals, educators, and more.

What topics do we cover?

We present on a diverse array of topics related to sexual and domestic violence. This can include sexual harassment, healthy relationships, facts about sexual and domestic violence,  sex education, consent, risk and protective factors, victim blaming, the intersection of traditional and social media and dating/sexual violence, what to do if someone discloses to you, and so many more! We are also happy to tailor a presentation to your needs.

In addition, if you would like to learn more about what we do and how you can help, we will also come to your meeting/gathering and present about our agency.
